Now here's a colourful world, where a wooden puppet and a young man take on a pirate captain who has mysterious powers of her own. This is one you enjoy for the constant movement, the razzle dazzle of new colour and texture of the world in which the story is placed. In fact, the whole story is a lot like its title, and it has its own logic. Of course, Garth Nix has figured out a few things about story telling by now, so we can admire the way he lets his imagination run wild and yet tells a coherent story. When you think about it, it would take scholars to build a thing like a sea gate.
Enjoy it here.
