"The only gold I've ever known,
It all belonged to the giant Longbone."
This line came from Steeleye Span's "Longbone" on their Sails of Silver album. Here are links to a live version and to the lyrics .
I always liked the wistfulness the king has for the gold he will never have. Plus, I think Longbone is a great name for a giant. The obviousness of it amuses me.
So now for a new line for our writing prompts.
"About suffering they were never wrong,
The Old Masters."
Have fun with it.
